I love lilacs...almost as much as roses. When we moved from our NY house, I was very sad to leave my dwarf lilac bush given me by Louise Mazza. I wanted to take a clipping, but we knew it wouldn't last the drive. I kept telling Phil I wanted a lilac bush on our property soon. He said we'd work on it. (a.k.a. not now) 3 weeks ago, Phil came in from mowing to tell me that we have a lilac bush. It is in our back yard. I originally thought it was a forsythia bush, but apparently it is a lilac bush. I'm posting a picture for you to see how beautiful it is. Last weekend we purchased patio furniture, and it is one of my favorite things to do (when it cools in the evening) to take a book or my computer out and sit right by the bush so the breeze blows the wonderful aroma right at me! I told Lilly today I wish I could bottle the smell to keep it all year round. The imitation lilac candles just don’t cut it.

This is gorgeous!!!! I miss lilacs so much and I have been drooling for one since our move. If you can successfully bottle that smell, sign me up! Thanks for sharing that picture, it is breathtaking!
