Ok, so that's not exactly how Michael W. Smith's song goes (I've taken a little bit of creative liberties with it...hope he doesn't come after me!)! I'm sitting outside on my front porch enjoying the sunset. It is 9:15 and it just disappeared. I've enjoyed a good day. I worked out (alone!) this morning, took a long warm shower, laid with Katy reading books with my feet propped up on pillows for awhile, had leftover steak salad for lunch, ran around with the kids this afternoon after stopping in to see my grandparents for a few minutes (leaving with some yummy cake w/o chocolate), washing cars, playing kickball and football in the backyard with the kids and Phil, and finally sitting on the front porch after making some PC calls, to enjoy the sunset and the breeze. It was 83 degrees here today, and the house got quite warm too because of the shake and bake chicken I made for supper (with leftovers for the freezer - Shelly would be proud of me!). I love days like this. Days that I can emotionally feel up and happier. Yes, we have our moments throughout the day, but things have been better.
Our realtor came by to have us sign the updated purchase agreement for our house here. We're getting much closer! We should be closing the first week of June (assuming all goes well with NY closing on the 30th). We are scheduled with the contractor to come in and prep/pour our concrete, aggregate patio (where we'll be able to enjoy MANY wonderful evenings with bugs gnawing on our legs (I'm told they were really bad around here last year.). We've been pricing out swing/play sets for the kids to enjoy. We went 4 places last week and finally settled on one in Noblesville, IN, called Recreation Unlimited. They are a fantastic place. You can go in, see the play sets, allow your kids to play on them (for hours if you choose - you have to stay!), and just sit back and relax in one of the gliding rockers if you choose. Some of the sets cost more than either of my vehicles, but we didn't choose those! They even have a set in their catalog (for a school or park) that costs $40,000! Yikes! Again, not what we chose! Recreation Unlimited also does birthday parties. It can get pretty crazy in there, but it is fun. They also sell hot tubs, pool tables, air hockey (my favorite), and a bunch more. It's a pretty neat spot.
On a side note, for those of you around my area, don't bother going to Hoosier Hoops. Word has it that they have filed bankruptcy and are on a cash only basis with their suppliers. They have HORRIBLE customer service too. Check out some of the other places instead.
Anyway, it's been a good day. I've been sleeping better and for the most part feeling better, so I can enjoy more sunshine. (just in time for storms tomorrow! I washed both vehicles, so doesn't it figure?)
Off to find something to much on before heading off to bed.
