It’s been awhile since I have written (ok, so I posted just before this, but…) My leg is improving. The bruise is still quite evident and has even spread down the side of my leg, but is slowly beginning to get better. I have been working out even though it hurts a bit. I try to be careful what I do. I haven’t done any leg machines in a few weeks. I must be losing my muscle tone a bit on my voluptuous thighs! (that sounds so…good!)
I had a show on Tuesday night. It’s my only Cooking show for the month. Which reminds me I’m supposed to be on the phone with a host closing out a catalog show now! Be back in a little bit.
Ok, I’m back…only it took me a week to get back. I’ve been to the doctor this week. I broke out in what I thought was hives Sunday night, and itched to beat the band wagon. It was misery trying to sleep. The weird thing is that they were located in one area of my back and not all over me. When I showed them to the doctor, she told me they were in a diamond shaped pattern like a lawn chair. She described them as broken blood vessels in my back. I still didn’t quite understand how they would itch so much, but she prescribed me some special cream and I’ve been using it multiple times a day. She also checked out my knee and said it seems to just be deeply bruised and not be a ligament or meniscus problem. I’m thankful for that, but it still hurts and it has been almost a month!
This is a very busy week here. Phil is working 3 graduation ceremonies on Saturday. At his old job, they had 1 graduation/year. Here they have 3 ceremonies 3 times/ year. (April, August, and December) I have learned in the past not to expect to see him much during a graduation weekend, and when I do, to know that he won’t be worth much because he will be so tired and sore. He said today that he wished he had Katy to help him. A month or so ago, he did a big chapel in the gym, and had Katy help him (while I worked out) run cables under the stage (is that considered child labor, or using your child for a good cause?). Since she is much smaller than he is, she was able to be under the stage w/o being on her hands and knees. Today, he had student workers, but he still had to be down plugging cables into the racks. He’s taking Katy next time!
I have an open house at the Bridal Shop for Pampered Chef on Saturday. I am hoping to get several brides registered (and actively using their registry) and even get some shows and recruits out of it. I’m working hard to really grow both my business and my team. I have 2 girls waiting in the wings to sign up…they just have to get their shows lined up. I need to have 5 girls who have done their first 4 shows by June 30 so I can promote to director July 1 and walk stage at National Conference. It’s been tough growing the business from scratch here. It is hard, at times, to meet people who will do the shows, so I can have the shows and get the bookings and recruits.
Phil and I are going on a “real” date this weekend. By real, I mean on our own, without going to a party/get together with friends. (nothing against any of our friends, but sometimes you just need to do something “alone”) We are going to the Michael W. Smith concert. It’s the first time we’ve had to pay in a long time. Our friend Mel used to tour with him as his manager and merchandising manager, but she is no longer with him. We, not only bought tickets, but had to get a babysitter too. Our regular babysitter, Sarah, has gone home for the summer (she lives in Corning and is a student here), so we have to try out some new sitters this weekend. It’ll be good to find some others who can help out.

Hope you guys have fun on your date! A date night is always a good thing! :-)
The concert sounds like fun! I am guessing at who your babysitter was and wondering how she is doing at IWU and in general. If you have a chance, let me know how she is!
