It’s been awhile since I blogged. Each time I blog, I start it out in Word so that I make sure that spelling and grammar are correct (former English major in me!). I have a huge pet peeve of finding spelling/grammatical errors in official letters that go out or church bulletins. Isn’t that what spell check is for? Anyway, back to the whole typing it out in Word…I have 94 pages of blogging so far. Yikes! That’s a lot.
Grease:
Tomorrow night is the final one. My top female pick – Laura – is still in and unless something crazy happens, she’ll be playing Sandy on Broadway. Of the 2 guys left, I’m voting for Max. I couldn’t stand him at first, but he’s come a long way and I really don’t like Austin! You know, we are a bit weird about saying we don’t like people we don’t even know.
Anyway, I’ll be taping it because we have SPECIAL company this weekend. My parents are in town. It sure is nice having them here. It’s fun watching the girls try to “catch up” on all the missed time, and yet their conversations seem to pick up right where they left off. OF course, I like having them here too.
Phil on the other hand, started in picking on mom before she even got in the door! That’s what they do best…pick on each other…it’s how they show their love. (it can be quite funny at times.) Ring…mom, could you get that phone? ☺
Let’s see, what else do I have to report on…Lilly goes back to the surgeon to get a post-op check on the tonsils (I’m having him look at Katy’s too because she constantly complains that her throat hurts.)
Katy had a bike accident 2 weeks ago. She hit the sand on the side of the road (here they use dirt/sand on the roads to attempt to make it not slippery…better on the vehicles, but worse on the slippery roads) even after her daddy explained to stay out of it. The bike went out from under her and hit her tooth. Katy landed on her chin and slid. Wow! There was a lot of blood. I could only imagine the ER visit we were going to have to take as Phil carried her up the yard. I didn’t go out when I heard the crying because he was out there and I figured it was just another fight (like the night before when Lilly forgot how to use her words and hit her sister in the corner of the eye with a rock.), so I figured he could handle it. That was until the crying got louder and louder… I went out and asked if everything was ok (stupid question) and he had Katy over his shoulder and the bike in the other hand so it (the bike) was out of the road. He told me to get a rag. We got her in and she kept saying her tooth hurt. In order to make a long story short, I ended up with an emergency dentist appointment 2 days later. I usually figure it’s worth waiting to save the $. The bike accident happened on Monday night. (I was supposed to be gone to a show, but it was cancelled, so I was thankful to be home.) On Tuesday night (after an entire day of complaining from a child with a high pain tolerance), the tears became greater…she was brushing her teeth. I had to help her and saw what looked to be a horizontal crack across her top front tooth. Phil saw it too, and thus the dentist appointment. They were great. (I hadn’t sent anything up because we had dentist appointments before we moved and it wasn’t’ time yet.) They took an x-ray and said it wasn’t cracked. They told me what to watch for (although I’m still not sure they x-rayed the correct tooth…I think Katy pointed to the one beside it, but didn’t realize that until too late.) and we set up regular cleaning appointments for a few weeks so they’ll check it again then. She still complains of pain, but considering what they explained about smashing the teeth together so the root was bruised (you could see the bruise too), it’s no wonder.
There is so much else I could type about, but my sleep meds (doctor said I HAD to take them) are going to kick in soon and I’d like to be in bed when they do…
I’ll post more soon…
Just don’t try to come visit our neighbors instead of us because our road is flooded yet again.
