Ouch!

Today was the last day of dance camp. We worked hard on our routines. I never saw the girls routines because I couldn’t escape during the morning or I would miss my dance instruction. The only dance I saw them do was the Jewish dance we all did. It’s hard to be a mommy who loves to take pictures and not be able to do it. My friend, Michelle, was the photographer for the week, and she got some great shots of the kids. I’ll try to post them when I get them from her.

During the morning practice, I fell while up on my toes and hurt my ankle and leg. I fell and twisted my ankle flat to the floor. I sat there for what seemed like 10 minutes, and held it, but it was probably only seconds. Mrs. Bowman, my teacher, didn’t even notice that I had fallen.

It was soon after this spot in the dance where I fell.

After dance was over, I wrapped it in an ace bandage and propped it up while I iced it. It felt much better. I was determined I WOULD dance tonight. Phil asked if I was going to dance, and my response was, “I busted my behind all week to do this. I AM going to dance. If I can’t walk tomorrow, than I will deal with that then.”

All afternoon, I prayed that God would help me dance for Him and not cry in pain. I wanted to wear a smile. I think I managed to do that! It hurt, but not desperately. Doing the Jewish dance was really hard since some of the moves require all ones weight to be on that foot.

I WILL SURVIVE!
