Finally - An Accepted Offer on the House!

It's official! As of 4:30 yesterday afternoon, we have an accepted offer on the house. Thankfully it is not the same people who made 2 offers before which were extremely low. They are supposedly still "deciding" what to do...stinks to be them...it's under contract!

Our realtor called around lunchtime yesterday to tell us there was a new offer. We counter offered and they accepted. We have signed the papers and we're on to the next step. They have scheduled the structural inspection (the one contingency they had) is scheduled for Wednesday. We have disclosed everything we know of, and aren't looking for any surprises. We also made it clear we were not responsible for any changes they wanted to have made.

We have given them a bit of added incentive to close on or before May 30, and they are going to work very hard to do that. It will be so nice not to have to pay mortgage, home owners, electric, gas, water, and lawn care on that house and be able to have a little extra $ to spend on this house...we couldn't close on this house until our house in NY sold. We've been paying rent here, so it will be nice to free things up a bit.
