Celebrating a Birthday! 59th to be exact

It started last week with this photo. Since we couldn't be in Big Flats to help celebrate, I took this picture and emailed it to Alex (the Children's and Youth Director at Big Flats) and he snuck it into the powerpoint to help us surprise dad.

Since I am all for fire safely, there were only 5 candles on dad's cookie.

The "cake" which was really a chocolate chip cookie (quite lethal to Katy but very enjoyable) was not much to look at, but it sure was a hit. I think we all had seconds (at least).

These are the people (Grandpa and Grandma Lytle) who are ultimately responsible for this birthday. Grandpa thanked Dad for having a birthday so he could enjoy the extra special dessert. To which I responded, "Aren't you two the ones who are ultimately responsible and the ones to thank?!" That brought much laughter and smiles.

Since Katy is allergic to chocolate, we had to make sure she had something special..a sugar cookie with frosting.

Doesn't she look happy?
