Pool Time

The girls have been begging for our pool ever since we got rid of the baby wading pool in NY. A month or so ago a neighbor gave us an "inflatable" pool. Phil refused to put it up until the construction was all done (much to my disgust because I wanted it up, but he was right with all the dirt. They probably would have crashed into it anyway!).

The pool went up this week. It took hours. We used our tiny air compressor connected to the van lighter to fill up the white part, and then the hose ran from 1:30 until 5ish. We put chemicals in it, and covered it up.

Here are some fun pictures of the girls attempting to climb in. For those of you family members who have ever been in Seneca Lake, it is quite comparable temperature-wise right now. The nice thing is that it will warm up!

"I can do it! I can do it! I can do it!" (The Seneca Lake pep talk)...Burr!

"There. I did it!" AHHHH! It's cold!

"Ok, Katy, you get in now."

"This is REALLY cold!" "Jenna's pool is bigger AND warmer, Mommy."
"Mommy? Are you getting in?

"I'm not sure...I'm really not warm enough to." (Classic Kathy Lytle saying from Seneca Lake) "I have to be good and hot to get in that water."

"What are you going to do, Mommy?"

"I'm going to sit here in my chaise lounge chair with my feet up and watch you freeze."

We were in the pool again today. It really wasn't much warmer (any warmer), but all 4 of us had fun! Jenna came over later to play in the pool for a few minutes.

I'm sure we'll have lots of fun in it this summer.

I too have to be really hot to get into cold water. I won't get in my parents' pool unless it is above 85 degrees. :-) Emma doesn't care, but I do! Anna just won't get in at all, no matter what the temperature is. (She is afraid of the water.)
