It's time to brag on my youngest for a few minutes. But first...Lilly got tired of waiting for her daddy to help her learn to ride her bike without training wheels, so in October, she went at it on her own. I helped her a lot the first 2 days, then she learned to take off on her own and there was no stopping her.
Now, 2 months later, Katy (the one with the "If you can do it, I can do it better" mentality" has done it too! Now, she's 27 months younger then her sister, making her 4.5! We told her once the training wheels were off, we WEREN'T going to put them back on like we did for Lilly. We got tired of Lilly screaming that she couldn't do it, but we weren't doing the same for Katy (she is usually easier anyway when it comes to things that require coordination). So, in 3 days of riding, she's on her own. Due to the way her training wheels had been set (loosely so she'd have to adjust to wobbling), she could only ride in circles once the training wheels were off. Now, after some help, she's off and riding down our dead end street. I chased her yesterday, holding on for awhile, and then just staying beside her, but then, she started wanting to do it herself. Now, she's off riding. It's amazing. We took some great pictures yesterday, but I have not had success in uploading them. Hopefully, I can get Phil to help me post them soon.
Yeah, Katy!!
