We’ve been here in Marion now 3 ½ weeks. I find it hard to believe some days. Then there are the others when it seems we have been here for eons. The boxes are decreasing each week and pictures are even appearing on the walls! It’s beginning to look like home. I’m not sure I feel like it is home, but it’s looking that way. By the way, anyone know what happened to my king size sailboat sheets? I still can’t find them! They are my extra sheets for our bed, and I really would like to have them! If you locate them, post a comment and let me know where to locate them?!!
There are other things that we have not yet found, but I can’t think of what they are at the moment. I did find a curtain I had been wanting. Before my parents left, I was going to hang my ivy curtains in the kitchen, but could only find one curtain and after searching multiple times, gave up and put the one curtain back in the linen tote. Well, when I finally got around to pulling my mixer out, there it was…wrapped around my mixer for padding. Now the problem is that the 1st curtain is in the linen tote under about 8 other totes in the garage and I don’t think my husband will take kindly to me asking him to rearrange things so I can get to it. The next time he is moving things around in the garage, I’ll see what I can do.
Last night I had a call with my life coach Rama. I had arranged this before we moved, so that I could have some encouragement and helpful insight after we moved and I was trying to get my business up and running. While we were talking, it was as if she lit a fire under me. I just started getting more and more excited about my business. One of the biggest things I had struggled with was leaving my team behind and not being able to be a part of their training. Rama helped me to see that not only could I be a part of their training, but by bi-weekly tele-conferences, I could be a major part of their businesses. Most million dollar leaders use this system for training their downlines across the country. I’m very excited about it.
I also started getting excited about building my bookings. I’m finding that there don’t seem to be many consultants in the area, and especially not motivated ones. I’ve been stopping at random businesses to introduce myself and drop off catalogs for their waiting rooms. One of my stops today was at the local bridal shop. They were very excited because they LOVE Pampered Chef. I left the catalogs and business cards that I had and promised to go back with Wedding Registry flyers. I also stopped at the rental store in town and left catalogs and information there. I figured it wouldn’t hurt since they rent moving trucks, party items, and costumes. I’d be sure to hit a variety of different people. I think next week I’ll come up with a list of other places to go.
I’m also working on planning my annual Black Friday Sale. This is something I have done for 4 years now. I love it. It is only through phone and email, and I always offer great specials. I give away products, offer special deals, and have a great time with it. This year, I’m again going to take the approach of a mid-day sale. I like to hit the stores early, and know others don’t want to miss out on that either, so if I do it mid-day, then I can shop, and they won’t miss out on the sale either!
I finally have a Pampered Chef party tomorrow night! I’m so excited about it because I haven’t had a party since the 7th of October! It has been like I’m missing yet another part of my life. I can’t wait to get it back. I think it will be a relief.
Time to go pack my showcase and bag for the show. I like to have that done so I don’t end up rushing at the last minute. There is so much to get ready since everything was moved around during our big move. I’ll tell you more after my party.
Oh, my goal – 4 shows on the calendar for November and December. I have 3 regular shows on my calendar so far for November. I hope to add one more. I have one for February. I hope to add at least 1 recruit each month to my team as well. This area seems ripe for the harvest so to speak. There are so many people who lost jobs because of major plant closings that it could be a good thing.
